Tuition reminder
We still have a few families who have not completed payments for tuition for the year. All tuition must be paid prior to the end of the semester. Notices were sent last month as reminders from the WRYC treasurer. Singers are not eligible for scholarships nor can they register for the 2003-2004 season until all tuition is current. We appreciate everyone who has responded. Tuition can be mailed to WRYC, 10000 W. Gallagher Way, Yorktown, In 47396.
Spring Choir Reception
We are requesting Altos and Basses to each bring 2 dozen cookies for the reception following the Spring Concert. Please leave the cookies in fellowship hall, which is located in the basement of First Presbyterian Church. Thanks to everyone for your contributions during the year. We have plenty of drinks left over from the fall concert. A special thanks goes to Louis and Kris Valenti for heading the Reception Committee this year. Everyone enjoys this social time after the concert.
Please remember to turn in your folder before the end of the year so we can get old music filed and new music ready for the 2003-2004 season.
Choir pictures
Group pictures of each choir will be taken prior to the Spring Concert at 6:00 pm sharp.
Group pictures will not be held for late comers so please make sure you arrive early to the church and are ready in the sanctuary. No individual pictures will be taken. Orders for group pictures will only be taken the night of the concert. Do not send order forms or money to rehearsal as they will not be accepted. Extra order forms will be available the night of the concert, if needed. Prices for pictures this year will be $8.00 for (1), $15 for (2), $21 for (3) and $25 for (4).
Japan Tour Choir Reminder
Japan tour choir singers will continue to meet each and every Monday night following the Spring Concert from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
At the March 3rd Parent Meeting it was decided that a small, handmade album/book would be a meaningful gift for visiting choir members to share with their host families. This "acordian style" book could include photographs, written comments, and other inclusions important to the student. A special pocket will be built in, to hold a handwritten thank you, from one family to another.
Two workshops are scheduled for making this book. During the first, students will create the surface for their book covers, and they will pre-fold pages. At the second workshop, the covers will be completed and glued to the folded pages, along with ribbon ties. Placement of photos and other details can be completed at home. Each choir member may make two books. Materials will be provided at the workshops.
Workshop dates and times:
April 7, 6:00 - 7:15 PM
April 14, 6: 00 - 7:15 PM
Also, on April 7, 2003 from 6:00 - 7:15 pm we will have a display in the hallway with several possible host gifts available for singers/and or parents to purchase. Some items can be purchased that night and others can be ordered. This is a great time to plan on host gifts and many will be offered at a very reasonable cost. Each singer is expected to provide one host gift for their host family, (other than the photo album). Remember, someone in Japan will be opening their home to your singer, providing some meals, and also transportation. We want to make sure that we appropriately thank everyone for their generous hospitality.
